Basic Troubleshooting Guide

A few steps worth trying before calling for support — they resolve a surprising number of everyday issues.

Computer running slowly

Restart the computer fully, rather than just closing programs. Close browser tabs and applications you're not using, and check how much free storage space is left — very low free space can slow a system down significantly.

No internet connection

Restart the router and modem by unplugging them for about 30 seconds, then plugging them back in. Give equipment a minute or two to fully reconnect before testing again. If only one device is affected, restart that device as well.

Printer not responding

Confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your computer. Restart both the printer and the computer. Check for a paper jam or low-ink warning that may be pausing print jobs.

Suspicious email or link

Don't click links or download attachments from unexpected or unfamiliar senders. If an email claims to be from a company you work with but feels off, contact that company directly using a known phone number or website — not the contact information in the email itself.
